An ACT Government Website

This page has information for immunisers about the funded influenza vaccines available in 2025 under the National Immunisation Program (NIP).

Before you administer a vaccine, check Australian Immunisation Handbook's the pre-vaccination checklist.

Children under 9 years of age will need 2 doses at least 4 weeks apart in their first year of vaccination.

Timing of vaccines

Optimal protection against influenza occurs within the first 3 to 4 months following vaccination.

Continue offering the influenza vaccine as long as the vaccines are within their expiry date.

Influenza vaccines can be co-administered (on the same day) with COVID-19 vaccines.

Children under 9 years of age will need 2 doses at least 4 weeks apart in their first year of vaccination.
