Overview
MPC builds infrastructure across the ACT to support our growing city. These projects aim to connect and transform the way we move through Canberra. New infrastructure supports a growing population projected to reach 500,000 people by 2026-27. MPC builds:
- education, emergency services and justice facilities
- health service upgrades including community health centres
- community assets including sport and arts facilities
- roads, highways and active travel networks
- water sensitive urban design and stormwater upgrades.
Working in partnership
MPC works with all parts of the ACT Government and the private sector. Our project managers who are specialists work in partnership to build critical pieces of infrastructure. They offer subject mater expertise, project management, procurement and contract support. This contributes to the ACT Governments infrastructure program.
Working in partnership with the ACT Government and private sector:
- builds sustainable government services that meet the needs of a growing population
- grows a skills infrastructure building workforce to support future development
- revitalises the city so it can be enjoyed by the whole community.
Civil infrastructure
Civil Infrastructure leads projects to build better transport infrastructure. It supports investments in our suburbs and support the land release program. Specific types of projects include:
- safer suburban roads and intersections
- investing in parks and playgrounds
- planting more trees
- more local ovals and sports facilities.
Commercial infrastructure
Commercial Infrastructure leads projects to expand access to schools, building community centres and growing high quality public housing stock. Specific types of projects include:
- building and expanding local schools across the city
- building and renewing public housing
- developing better local community centres.
Social infrastructure
Social Infrastructure leads projects to improve access to healthcare, emergency services and police. This contributes to making Canberra a more inclusive city. Specific types of projects include:
- increasing access to specialist healthcare and mental health services
- planning new stations for emergency services
- community building activities.
