About the venue
The Former Transport Depot is part of the historical Kingston Power House precinct. The building was at the centre of government transport operations in Canberra from 1927 to 1992.
A unique feature of the venue is a steel welded portal frame which was built to support the roof between 1940 to 1941. This now considered one of the earliest examples of this technology in the world (for its size).
The space is split into 3 areas (upper, lower and foreshore), which can be hired separately or combined for a larger scale event, for example:
- work functions
- public festivals
- trade expos.
