Wellbeing data dashboard
The ACT Wellbeing Framework looks at 12 aspects of wellbeing – which we call ‘domains’. The domains reflect the key factors the community told us impact on the quality of life of Canberrans. The Framework also includes personal wellbeing, which is an overall measure of our life satisfaction. Canberrans generally have higher levels of wellbeing than people living in other parts of Australia – but wellbeing also differs for different people within our community.
Through this landing page, you can find out how we are doing in 56 specific areas across the domains – which we call ‘indicators’. Our indicators show broadly how we are doing in each domain. The results over time will provide the basis for discussions between government and the community. Where data are available, you can also look within each result to see how wellbeing is changing, how we compare nationally, and in some cases, how wellbeing differs from the average for some groups in the community.
The dashboard was updated in November 2023.
Personal wellbeing
The personal wellbeing index includes seven key factors of life satisfaction, from across the domains, and summarises them into a single measure of how well life is going overall for people in the ACT.
